Workamping in Spokan. Wa.

I live in Southern California and I'm going to semi retire in months. Iv'e been offered a management possission in Spokan, Wa. I'm a shorts and T-shirt kind of guy and my buddies think I'm crazy. Is that a nice area? Would this be a good move?

RE: Help!!! Generator acting up.

Start the coach engine, then try the generator again. If it runs normal with the coach engine running, look for a bad ground on the generator battery circuit. Look for corrosion, loose connection, etc. It sounds like you may have an intermittet loss on the grounding circuit. I had a Class C with these exact symptoms. It was a loose connection where the ground cable connectd to the frame. Good luck.I worked on two friends motorhomes with the same problem. Started the coach engine and the serge was gone. Turned the coach engine off and all worked great. Don't know why but this worked on two different MH's. I will check the grounds on both MH's. Thanks.

RE: Se-Gl Window Fogging Problem and Question: UPDATE

SE-GI is a horrable product. Just remember this. If you buy a MH with SE-GI windows it's not if, but when you will have to spend thousands to replace them.

RE: Dull tailight lens repair

The product I used is Green metal polish by "What a Shine" but I think any aluminum metal polish will work.

Dull tailight lens repair

My tailight lens on my DP and 2000 Silverado had faded and look dull. I bought some stuff at the auto parts store, didn't work. A friend and I were talking one day and he asked if i had some aluminum polish. I gave him some and within 30 seconds my tailight lens looked like the day I left the dealership. I tried it on the plastic headlight lens and they look like new also. I was going to buy new lens for the DP and they were over $300.00. So I'm happy spending less then $10.00 to look new. Hope this will help someone too.

RE: Mileage on Diesel pushers

Just like gas, it's how you drive. Mine is 40' 330 cat. If I have a tail wind I get 9-10mpg at 55mph. If I have a head wind I get about 6mpg. This is what the onboard computer is telling me.If your going down hill you will love that mpg.

RE: What if your MH rolls on its side?

Good reason to carry one of those windshield escape hammer tools. I keep mine in the outside storage bay...right outside the door. :)
Funny! but for info that hammer will not work on a windshield(safety glass) They are for tempered glass in the doors and side glass. With safety glass you would be there all day.:S

RE: "Scavenger" Power Exhaust

All I know is if you could get compression at idle and at full boost there would be a BIG difference

RE: FACT OR FICTION???????

Fact. Compressors shaft seals have a metal against a ceramic seal that are sealed with pressure of a spring. What seals it is oil that flows with the refrigerant. So use it frequently keeps the oil at the seal. Like others said “Use it or lose it”

RE: Sewer odor while moving

I have the cleanest tanks in town and a few month ago it started smelling reeeeeal bad in the MH after I dumped.:h It turned out to be the "P" trap for the washer/dryer. I ran a cycle and a lot of "live" little worms (not maggots) came out. Now it's smells like a rose. :B

RE: Trade-In Value with Replaced Speedometer

I would have told them to keep the new coach. I deal is a deal and you disclosed the speedometer problem and gave them a letter covering it. Also I have a hard time believing the Freightliner dealer did not note the mileage before they started working on it. I have never seen that from any dealer especially because they have a miles/time warranty. With the miles noted on the repair order they should have been able to return the new odometer to the correct mileage. When I relaced my speedo they said for $100.00 more they would set the odometer at the correct mileage, I said no and saved the old speedo too show what the milage was.

Come on, you know 18-3 is too small. Go buy some 16-3. If it was me I would use 14-3.

RE: Coolant leak from heater core on carpet, suggestions wanted.

Use a shop vac and plenty of water. Anti-freeze is like oil, and It doesn't dry like water so use a lot of water and a wet & dry shop vac to get rid of the coolant then use a fan and "let it blow, let it blow, let it blow".
